GPT Camp
23-26 May the 2024 camp is a 4-day immersion in the Grampians to help you as part of your miler journey.
IMPORTANT: Accommodation and food MUST be organised and paid for by each participant.
COST
FREE!! to anyone entered in ANY event before Midnight May 13th 2024!
The training camp is free for those that have entered any of the GPT events, however, we warmly welcome others to come and run with us for a fee.
If you are a non-GPT Entrant and would like to attend the full camp (Thursday PM through to Sunday) the cost is $200.
If you are a non-GPT Entrant and would like to attend from Friday PM through to Sunday the cost is $150.
Mandatory gear
Mandatory gear will be required for each run as follows:
A quality pack suitable to carry all the below items
Waterproof Jacket with hood and sealed seams
Thermal top with long sleeves (polypropylene or wool textile only)
Warm headwear (buff, beanie or balaclava)
Warm Gloves
Fully charged Smart Phone with Capra App installed and maps downloaded
1.5 Litres of liquid storage capacity (not required for Thursday)
One (1) working torch
Survival / Emergency Blanket

Thursday
4pm - Meet Outside Halls Gap Visitors Centre
4:15pm - Large group run on local loop. 1hr, 6km
Optional dinner at Rock Paper Scissors Brewery (right next to meeting point). This will be up to you to buy your own food and drinks.
Friday
8am - Meet Outside Halls Gap Visitors Centre.
8:15am - Shuttle to Mount Zero
9am - Start run at Mount Zero (15.5km, 620m+)
Optional longer run to Beehive falls (22k)
5:30pm - Dinner by SingleTrack
Saturday
7:30am - Meet in at Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre
7:45am - Shuttle to the start of Short course or Long course options.
8:30am - Start run
Long option: Start at Griffin Fireline - 33.22km, 1694m+
Medium: Start at Griffin Fireline - 22.54km, 1094m+
Short option: Start at Cassidy’s Gap - 11.46km, 641m+
All runs will finish at Grampians Retreat. We have organised lunch to be waiting there when you roll in. They will have showers available to use. Bring your own towel and warm clothes to change into. We will set up a fire, kick back and enjoy the arvo and wait for the last runner.

Sunday
RUN THE GAP - Race a local race in Halls Gap since 2012. It is a fundraiser for the Fires that hit the region earlier this year. All proceeds have traditionally gone to various local community projects.
Or organise a long run on the Grampians Peaks Trail withy our new buddies.
